Robert Soisson Inducted to OSTPA Hall of Fame


In 1975, Bob was the points champion in the 1500 lb. Mini Rod class using a 327 Chevy he called "Betsy".
The following year he was the 1500 lb. Mini Rod points champion again. But this time he was pulling a T-53 Turbine tractor called "Flying Machine".
1978 saw Soisson claiming the points championship in the 1500 lb. and 1700 lb. Mini Rod division with the Flying Machine.
In 1980, he built the new Flying Machine, a modified tractor with a single T-53 Turbine for the 5000 lb. and 7000 lb. modified division.
Then in 2002, 2004 and 2005 Soisson won the points championship in 7500 lb. modified divison with the new and improved Flying Machine. The tractor is equipped with a T-64 and T-53 Turbine. During the 2002 and 2004 seasons, he also earned the title of Puller of the Year.
Bob and his wife, Cheryl, live in Akron. They have five children: Robert Jr., Rhonda, Debbie, Jeff and Annie.
