Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series
Information & History

The Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series is a regional Truck and Tractor Pulling Series that does major regional events in Kentucky and surrounding states. The BOB Series offers a large array of classes to fit every promoters budget. Classes include the very popular Limited Light Super Stock Tractors, Super-Modified 2WD Trucks, Pro Farm Tractors, Super Farm Tractors and the ever popular Diesel Trucks. Antique Tractors, Farm Stock Tractors and Street Diesel trucks are also available. These classes offer promoters a chance to make money off the “back gate” as well as the front gate.

The Battle of the Bluegrass Dirt Car Series is also affiliated with the Pulling Series. The BOB Dirt Car Series is one of the largest regional Dirt Car Series in America and the only regional series in the United States to receive national television coverage, seen on the Outdoor Channel. It is the hope of the BOB Pulling Series to sanction some of its events at some of the top Dirt Tracks in the region

The BOB Pulling Series is owned by two people who have a combined history of over 40 years of pulling experience.

Tom McConnell: Was the founder of Bluegrass Pulling and the American Tractor Pullers Association (ATPA). Through his leadership he developed national television coverage of the sport of pulling on ESPN 2 for over 10 years and negotiated contracts with the Outdoor Channel, Speed Vision, the Discovery Channel, the History Channel and RFD-TV. Was also a TV commentator for over 10 years with ESPN 2 and the Outdoor Channel and Speed Vision, as well as a script writer for all the shows.

Through the ATPA, McConnell secured major sponsorships with Lucas Oil, General Motors, Jasper Engines, McCormick Tractor, K&N Filters and many, many others. McConnell also grew the ATPA schedule to over 250 events nationwide, sanctioning events as far west as California and as far east to Vermont and into Western Canada.

Kevin Fulks has been involved in Pulling since the late 1980’s. One of the Bluegrass Pulling members and pulled the “Super Toy” Heavy Weight Super Stock for two seasons before building his famous “Walking Tall” John Deere. In 1996 he made the switch to a Ford and the “Walking Tall” became blue. Was the 1996 Light Weight Super Stock Champion for the ATPA and pulled on the ATPA national circuit until 2003. Kevin was also a National Farm Machinery Show winner.
