Tomah.....Sunday Evening...Huge Explosion

Just from memory....

Larry Roberts was test puller on the newly prepped track and naturally declines his test hook....let out of it early

Joe K. on TCOB JD gets a hell of bite and takes it out to about 321

Silver Bullet is next and just doesn't seem to be itself and spins out near 290

Ken Measel on the Mining for Dollars Case IH MX makes a real strong pass and would have probably took the lead from Joe K., but the motor is loaded hard and detonates around 300'....had a lot of momentum

Aaron Hull of the G-1000 Minnie Mo also makes a nice pass and actually runs it out of power, but has a nice finish around 306'

Brent Payne and the "Color of Money" JD makes one of the best passes I have seen and finishes around the 300' mark

The Highlight (as far as action goes) was Brian Korth driving the "Extremely Armed & Dangerous" Case IH MX....He had one hell of a run going carrying the front end just perfect and it was also putting a real good load on the motor....I don't know for sure if he would have won the class for sure, but he definately would have had second...Anyway, all of a sudden it detonates and there is a huge explosion and it blows the compressor housings completely off the Turbos and through the grill on the MX with pieces flying forward over 150' and were stopped by the 55 gallon water barrels at the end of the track...flag man may have been hit by some, but was not hurt.....Man that was the most violent detonation I have seen on an alcohol tractor since Lyle Hull split open his motor and laid it on the ground at Tomah several years back...It certainly was spectacular and definately woke the crowd up!

Probably will see some sort of new rule implemented after this....perhaps some sort of tether or something to keep from scattering parts.

Johnny Evans finishes 2nd around 321 or so

Larry Roberts comes back last and takes first place easily at 341'and wins the class

Joe K gets 3rd.....Johnny Evans 2nd.....and Larry Roberts 1st on the Big Toy

With the threat of rain, there was a floating finish only....no Pull OFF
