Much discussion has resulted this week with the Proposed Hemi blower overdrive rule change from 45% to 37%. However, after more discussion and thought by the joint executive boards of NTPA and WPI, it was decided to table this idea for now, and do nothing to the Hemi powered Mod competitors at this time at any level. It will be talked about much over the course of the 2008 pulling season, and more input will result.
The following changes are in effect for the 2008 season after the meetings held in Columbus, OH on December 7-8th:
Turbines:
1. T-64 engine shrouds (both composite and/or steel) must incorporate a minimum of ¼-inch thick steel flange that extends radially inward on the exhaust end of the shroud to within a maximum of ½ of engine exhaust pipe.
2. Water and/or alcohol injection not allowed for turbine tractors at Regional National level that are over 4,000 total horsepower ratings.
Kill Switches:
(All Classes)
All MSD 44 magnetos must use a kill switch approved by NTPA (trailer breakaway type switch not allowed).
Pro Stock tractors:
Pro Stock deck plate to be 1” (increased from 5/8”).
